Welkom bij Build Your Card 197, een priemgetal aan ByC's (maar twee delers, wat relevant is voor het thema)!

Elke BYC geeft de judge een thema waarbij iedereen een kaart bedenkt. De winnaar is de volgende judge en maakt een nieuw topic aan voor de volgende editie!

Er zijn wel een aantal regels:

1. Één kaart per deelnemer. De kaart die je inzendt mag worden gewijzigd en als je opeens een compleet ander idee hebt mag je je eerdere inzending schrappen. Er zal echter altijd één inzending beoordeeld worden.
2. Wees aardig. Net als MtG is BYC maar een spel.
3. Heb vooral lol met elkaar!

Een kaart wordt beoordeeld op de onderstaande criteria:

1. Lol: hoe leuk is het om met en tegen deze kaart te spelen?
2. Trouw aan het thema: Voldoet de kaart aan het thema?
3. Balans: Is de kaart een samenhangend geheel?
4. Powerlevel: Is de kaart niet veel te sterk of zwak?
5. Gebruiksvriendelijkheid: Is de kaart niet te ingewikkeld? (dus niet te veel tekst, complexiteit, e.d.)
6. Originaliteit: Hoe origineel is de kaart?
7. Afwerking: Is de kaart compleet (dus: heeft het een cost, rarity, naam, etc.) en kloppen de bewoordingen?
8. Trouw aan de kleur(en): Komen de kleuren van de kaart min of meer overeen met de abilities die erop zitten?

Ik heb echt niets met ONE, dus we gaan een getal verder. Met een eenvoudig thema kan iedereen een leuke kaart maken, dus we gaan voor een tweevoudig thema!

Het thema: Two is one!
Maak een kaart die iets met het getal twee te maken heeft. Daarbij bedoel ik niet power 2, toughness 2, MV 2 etc. dus niet de statische eigenschappen. Maar denk aan een Sword of Feast and Famine (feast en famine als paar/tegenstelling), een clone-effect, Gisa and Geralf (twee op 1 kaart), Dwynen's Elite (twee creatures), je kan het zo gek (en zo eenvoudig!!) niet bedenken! Maak een kaart en leg uit hoe deze iets met het getal twee te maken heeft.
Daarbij heeft deze ByC één extra regel: geen legendary kaarten! Het principe van legendary kaarten gaat namelijk tegen het 2-principe in.
Let op dat ik modal/double-faced kaarten toesta, maar wel streng ben als voor en achterkant geen geheel zijn of niets met het thema te maken hebben.

Natuurlijk een verwijzing naar de kaart Kaya's Guile, de persoon die King Brago of Paliano vermoord heeft. Mij leek het wel fijn om hier een soort van verderzetting van een cycle te proberen maken.
Ik ben zo getrouw als mogelijk aan Brago en zijn karakter gebleven, en heb zoveel mogelijk research naar de man, naar Kaya, en naar High Queen Marchesa gedaan naar aanloop van de BYC.
En ten slotte, de link met twee is zoals vanzelfsprekend de "Choose 2" modulus. Ik heb ook even getwijfeld de Cryptic Command cycle te maken, maar uiteindelijk ben ik bij mijn oorspronkelijke idee gebleven

All creatures with even mana value gains +2/+4 and has "When this creature attacks or blocks, scry 2. Then reveal the top card of your library. If a land card is revealed this way, you may put it on the battlefield tapped."
During the start of the end step, if a creature has died this turn, Exile Evens it out, then return it to the battlefield (front face up).

Wurmcoil Constructor

When Wurmcoil Constructor enters the battlefield, create a 3/3 colorless Phyrexian Wurm artifact creature token with deathtouch and a 3/3 colorless Phyrexian Wurm artifact creature token with lifelink.

Sacrifice a wurm and Wurmcoil Constructor: Put three +1/+1 counters and your choice of a deathtouch counter or lifelink counter on target wurm.

Een van de eerst kaarten waar ik aan dacht voor deze BYC was Wurmcoil Engine, omdat het in tween splitst. Omdat ik recent naar wat Enlist creatures zat te kijken voor een commander deck, wou ik iets maken waar twee dingen samen komen. Dus natuurlijk leek een tegenovergestelde wurmcoil engine die start als de twee tokens die samen kunnen komen erg leuk.

Yes, ik dacht slim te zijn. Helaas mogen Legendaries niet, dus ik moet toch weer terug naar de tekentafel
