Urza, Lord High Artificer (foil)

Grand Architect is the only thing I think of that kind of comes close. Maybe take a look at Inspiring Statuary or Chief Engineer?

Anybody know of any artifacts/instants/sorcery that does the same? Ie tap an artifact for 1mana (pref blue)? Not tap 1 artifact but lets me continuously tap artifacts during a turn for mana

Yea, im trying to make a budget friendly version with Erayo, Soratami Ascendant and Emry, Lurker of the Loch. I am hesitant to buy an Urza since it is so expensive and i doubt it will hold its value well... Nevertheless i Dont see another option to do the same mana ability with a low cost instant or so.

You can, since the ability is Urza's and not Ornithopter's and it doesn't contain the tap-symbol (). Summoning sickness only prevents attacking and using abilities containing and/or as part of their cost, on the summoning sick card. Tapping an Ornithopter the turn it enters the battlefield by Urza's ability is legal.

The combo you described with Paradoxical Outcome works as well! I encourage you to google for Vintage Paradoxical Outcome, low mana artifacts that produce mana and PO is kind of a well-known combo

can you also tap artifact creature that come into play (Ornithopter) that are still affected by summoning sicknes?
or can you only tap artifact coming in play like Tormod's Crypt or Welding Jar and equipments like O-Naginata ?

The plan is to use it in combination with Paradoxical Outcome, tap everything for mana and let it float, then return the low cost artifacts, draw many cards and replay said artifacts to tap them again for new mana. Is this possible?

Het is zeker een mana-ability! Een mana-ability kan je herkennen aan 3 dingen:
1) Hij maakt direct mana (duh). Een Arbor Elf heeft dus geen mana ability.
2) Hij target niet. De eerste ability van Deathrite Shaman is dus geen mana ability.
3) Het is geen loyalty ability. De +1 van Narset of the Ancient Way is dus geen mana ability.
Een Pithing Needle zet de laatste ability van Urza, Lord High Artificer wél uit, omdat dat géén mana ability is. Mana abilities gaan niet over de stack en mag je activeren op ieder moment dat je mana zou kunnen maken (heel vaak dus). Dat heeft als bijvangst dat de ability van Chromatic Sphere niet gecounterd kan worden door Stifle, of er op een andere manier op gereageerd kan worden.

hi, is de activated ability van Urza "Tap an untapped artifact you control: Add blue" een mana ability of niet? Ik speelde pas een Pithing Needle er op bij de tegenstander maar die gaf aan dat het een mana ability is. Voor mijn gevoel is het gewoon een activated ability en is alleen de artifact die wordt getapt voor blauwe mana wel een mana ability. Iemand die het zeker weet?

Dat is correct. Als er geen timing bijstaat, dan is het "nu of nooit" en mag je ook een sorcery in iemand anders beurt spelen bijvoorbeeld. Maar als wel een timing bijstaat, dan betekent dat je die kaart mag spelen via de normale manier, binnen die timing.

Deze ability zegt dat je de exilede kaart tot het einde van de beurt mag casten. Dat betekent dus via de normale regels. Dus een sorcery of creature alleen in je eigen main phase, als de stack leeg is. Dus als je deze ability activeert in de beurt van je tegenstander, dan kun je alleen een instant casten. Je moet echt een Vedalken Orreryachtige kaart hebben liggen om dat wel te kunnen doen.

De reden dat dit zo is trouwens (de bewoording is wel een beetje ouderwets), is dat dit de ability is van Temporal Aperture, en dat is een oude kaart .
